Rialto, CA, June 19, 2008 -- Neither gas prices, nor regulatory changes, nor massive China shipping crisis will stop Pyro Spectaculars by Souza, a premier pyrotechnic display company in the United States, from bringing its brand of 4th of July excitement to patriotic Americans across the country again this year.

You may have seen or heard stories about a catostrophic fire in warehouses (not owned by Pyro Spectaculars by Souza) near a major port in China. That fire cast doubt on the ability of US fireworks companies to put on displays in 2008 as planned. The problem worsened when the government of China shut down shipping in response to the fire.

The massive fire in China shook the industry, and left sponsors and company owners alike trying to imagine an Independence Day without fireworks displays in thousands of communities around the country. China’s fireworks industry provides about 80% of the pyrotechnics needed for the professional displays.

Julie Heckman, Director of the American Pyrotechnic Association, said that this year’s shortage will probably go on unnoticed despite the fact that 20% of the products will not make it before the 4th of July. “As competitive as this industry is, we bleed red, white and blue, and we’ll do anything to try to make certain each community gets their Fourth of July fireworks show,” she said.

There are literally millions of people that depend on Pyro Spectaculars to create a magical summer night for them, with the great American tradition of fireworks. THE NATION'S BIGGEST DISPLAYS!

Pyro Spectaculars by Souza is well known for doing some of the largest and most... spectacular displays in the country on the Fourth of July. In California, The Rose Bowl hosts AmericalFest and the 82nd Annual Independence Day Celebration in the City of Pasadena. San Francisco and Lake Tahoe are large and very popular displays in Northern California. In Southern California you can find other large Pyro Spectaculars shows in Redlands, Pomona (Fairplex), Carson (Home Depot Center) and Los Angeles Coliseum.

Across the nation, Pyro Spectaculars will present large displays from Honolulu, to Boston (Boston Pops) to perhaps the most extravagent display in the country on the Fourth, Macy’s 4th of July Spectacular in New York City. As always, the Macy's display will be telecast nation wide on NBC stations.
